New Caney, TX (RV) – Mar. 1-7, 2026

We are on the countdown to April 2, 2026 when the project closes, to complete the work that was started in January. Our team has been tasked with finishing two new builds in the next three weeks and the beehive of activity continues. Drywall sanding and mudding is completed on the Hayes’ 3-bedroom home. Painting is completed in the kitchen/living area, and started in the rest of the house. On Thursday, kitchen cabinets were picked up by Duane Anderson (Project director) at the MDS Conroe warehouse, and delivered to the home. This week, the cabinets will be installed, and painting will continue in the rest of the home, followed by flooring.

In the Renk’s 2 bedroom home, interior painting is completed, window boxes installed, caulked, and painted, and kitchen cabinets and counter tops are installed. The bulk of the flooring is also laid. This week, the team will finish the flooring, and hang the doors.

The outgoing team members wanted to use up their food leftovers before leaving us on Friday, suggesting a carry in “Taco Tuesday” on the RV patio. On Thursday evening and Friday, we had a tearful white hanky send offs with Vernon and Mary Kroeker, Rita and Ken Wolf, and Steve and Cindy Weaver. It is truly a blessing and a mystery to experience how deep the bonds of friendship grow in the 1-2 months we spend working and fellowshipping together.

Our new team members arrived safely on Friday, and on Saturday evening, Denis Sabourin (project director at MDS Conroe) gathered us for a joint meal to connect with the team at the MDS Conroe project. The New Caney RV MDS team has worked closely with the MDS Conroe team over these three months (January – March 2026) to share work on a total of 5 new builds.
