New Caney, TX (RV) – Feb. 22-28, 2026

Work continued on the Hayes’ home this week, including mudding and sanding of all the rooms. The kitchen/living area is ready for painting, while the rest of the rooms still need a little work. Window boxes with casings were constructed by Tom Hildebrand for both homes (a total of 18) and are ready for installation. Openings for the two bathroom doors were reconfigured. This coming week mudding and sanding will continue in the remaining rooms while a family of 7 living in a condemned home waits for its completion.

Part of the team started painting at the Renz home this week and completed two coats on the ceiling. They are now ready to start on the walls.

The team enjoyed several outdoor meals together this week, including a carry in (potluck) initiated by Jean Anderson on Thursday, a hearty breakfast cooked by Tye Gamey on Friday in which everyone contributed, and a picnic table lunch meal at Legacy TexMex BBQ after church on Sunday. We are definitely not going hungry! Also this month (since Jean arrived), a jigsaw puzzle is often out on the table in the office trailer, and Sunday evenings have been times of gathering for card games. Friday will be bittersweet as we say goodbye to half of the team and prepare to welcome 3 more households.
