New Caney, TX (RV) – Mar. 15-21, 2026
This week, most of the finishing work for Lisa and Bo R’s home in Porter, Texas was completed. Lori, Jean and Linda touched up trim paint and gave the home a thorough clean. Tom and Rex installed the kitchen sink, stove, fridge, washer and dryer and plumbing hookups. We look forward to a home dedication for Lisa and Bo planned for Thursday, March 26th.
At Missy’s home in Magnolia, where a family of 8 will be moving in, Jim, Tye, Gloria and Nancy installed flooring. On Wednesday, Jean joined this gang to paint floorboards and door trim, then started installing the trims with Nancy, while Rex and Tye hung the doors. Duane taught a few of the team how to cope the corners of the floorboards around the contours of the molding. Still to come this week is counter tops & sinks, toilets, and appliances. A home blessing is planned at Missy’s home for Monday, March 30, 2026.
Friday was a beautiful day for a team outing to Galveston Island where we learned about the history of the Hurricane/Flood of 1900 and explored the town. On Saturday we met up with the Newton MDS team at Wild Bill’s Grill in Woodville, Texas for 2 1/2 hours of eating and visiting: renewing old friendships and making new ones. And then, with this team, there is always time to stop at a thrift or antique store along the way. We have found many treasures this month!
