House Blessing – the culmination of many volunteers working together preparing a house to become a home!  Our group of RVers witnessed the joy, excitement and some shock which was expressed by the husband/father of this home.  He still has a hard time believing that someone would do this for his family.  A group of 25-30 people gathered on Thursday to participate in a dedication and blessing of the home on Jam Square.  We had programs in English and Spanish and an interpreter was present so that everyone could hear and understand all the words of encouragement and prayers of blessings in both languages.  Following the house blessing, presentation of gifts, and signing of the job card, we walked next door to a community center to enjoy a lunch prepared by the volunteers at the center.

At the beginning of this week, finishing details were completed at the Jam Square and half the volunteers continued at the #15-Citation Dr. house.  Taping, mudding, sanding and painting was happening inside the house and work was begun on the decks and railings outside the house.  This has been a cold, rainy week in Texas – we are looking forward to forecasts of 70’s and 80’s next week.

On Thursday evening, our group met at the office trailer for pizza and salad.  We are sad to say farewell to Fred, Eleanor and Jim as they leave us at the end of their four-week term.  They have been a great addition to our group and we pray for safe travels as they return to their homes.
