Monday morning, Fred and Lynn drove to LaPosada in San Benito to pick up cabinets for the four houses in Edinburg.  These cabinets were made in the Kansas MDS cabinet shop and delivered last week to South Texas.  On Tuesday, Lynn and Peter began installing the cabinets in the #14 Jam Square home.  The family has moved into this house and happily showed our volunteers how they have made it their home.  Countertop and a rangehood were also installed to complete our work at this home.

Work continued at the #15 Citation Dr. house – flooring, painting of trim and doors, porch railings – installation of the kitchen cabinets, hot water heater, and bathroom plumbing was done on Wednesday and Thursday.  The homeowner prepared chicken soup on Tuesday for the group and has joined our volunteers in painting trim.  Her happiness is contagious and, even though there are language barriers, she has brought much joy to our time of building her family a new home.

Three of our volunteers continued to tape and mud at the #16 Malibu Dr. house this week.  On Thursday afternoon, we attended a house blessing for the #13 Esperanza Dr. home.  MDS began the work at this house in late 2022, and then volunteers from World Renew continued work on the inside of the home.  Many hands, many hours of working together to complete a home for another happy family.
