This was the last week of volunteering for three of our volunteers!  We will certainly miss the interactions and fellowship with Trish, Lee and Kathy and wish them well as they move on to the next adventure in their lives.  We also enjoyed having Steve and Pam stop and visit us – many of our group had volunteered with them in previous years.  They helped us on the jobsites on Monday and Wednesday.  On Monday evening, many of us had dinner with Charles and Susan, also past co-volunteers with many of us in Marianna FL – so good to catch up!

This week our volunteers were busy at the Grape Street and Tangerine St. homes.  At the Grape Street home, they finished installation of the front door; worked on the water line; finished second coating of drywall; primed and painted the ceiling and walls of the bathroom and kitchen; installed plywood in carport ceiling; and began flooring in one bathroom.  A second group of volunteers worked at the Tangerine St. home where they primed and painted the exterior of the house.

On Thursday evening, we enjoyed pizza and salad as we said goodbye to those leaving and welcomed Ray and Darlene from Altoona, Manitoba who are joining us for the month of February.  We enjoyed having Kevin King join us for breakfast on Friday morning.  It was very interesting to hear heartwarming stories from other MDS sites.
