Seven new volunteers arrived on Sunday night from Oregon, Virginia and Pennsylvania. They will be here for the next two weeks.

After the required FEMA orientation on Monday morning, they headed to Candy and Orin Everitt’s house to continue the roof, windows, doors and electrical repairs.

On Tuesday half the crew began building a new roof at the home of Mercy Escha. Both projects continued throughout the week.

FEMA provides us with three small cars to carry tools and volunteers to job sites. Each morning the cars must be carefully packed with tools, lunches and water for the appropriate job.

Herb Hoover, our project director, continues to work with the FEMA assessor to approve future projects. He will finish his one-month assignment next week. Don Lichti, his replacement, will arrive on Thursday.
