Crisfield, MD – Oct. 8-14, 2023

What an amazing week occurred in Crisfield! Between October 7 & 8, we had 28 volunteers arrive from Carlisle,Pa  primarily from the Meeting House.  Their mission was to frame and roof a house in a week.

Saturday afternoon, initial prep work at the site was completed in anticipation of prebuilt exterior and interior walls arriving Monday AM.   The floor and walls were placed on Monday with trusses going on Tuesday.   Each day saw progress with Friday ending and windows, roof, doors in place and the house partially sided.   What an accomplishment!

The camaraderie of the group was beautiful!  The kitchen crew cooked amazing meals with a surf and turf night of crabmeat and shrimp donated by a local businessman.  We were so blessed with the friendships of this group, the love displayed for each other and for their love to serve.

A highlight of the week was having the homeowner at the worksite for lunch to meet the volunteers.
