Fifteen from the Bowmansville Mennonite Church Youth Group joined our 5 long term volunteers bringing our number of volunteers this week to a perfect 20.

Storm doors were hung at the Bennett house as well as cleaning done in preparation for the final inspection.  At the Beachy house, shingles were put on the roof, wall sheeting hung, steps, front porch and handrailing built.  After getting all the house wrap on, the doors and windows wereinstalled.  At the Welch house, siding, soffit, and fascia were installed as well as the handicap ramp started. The well at the Sterling house has been chlorinated, flushed, and tested by the health department.

Highlights of the week included having Maynard Hostetler come help us layout the handicap ramp at the Welch house, visiting Jordan’s crab shack and learning more about crabbing as well as the wonderful meals Anita and Sovilla prepared day after day for all of us.

Plans for next week are to continue building the handicap ramp at the Welch house and possibly begin hanging drywall.

The Bowmansville team came with the very skills that were needed for the stage the houses were in this week.  The weather cooperated nicely as well, making it possible to accomplish all the work we had hoped to get doneplus more.  We finish the week with 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 on our hearts.  “Always be joyful, never stop praying, be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”
