It has been such a joy and blessing to see the development of the families now living at Tierra De Esperanza (Land of Hope).  We had joined with Storm Aid of Ohio and Coastal Bend Disaster Recovery Group in the dedication of these homes in the Spring of 2021.  We are currently doing some small touchup jobs there.  Four of our team members Fred and Mary and Dave and Karen are restoring some flooring in a home and working on a drywall repair job. The homeowners over and over again expressed their deep gratitude for the work. The other four Duane and Jean, Bob and Cyndi are repairing floors and walls on a home that sustained water damage during Hurricane Harvey.  The homeowner here has been waiting for these repairs for a long time. When we first arrived, she would hang her head and simply say “too much, too much.”  She has her daughter come to translate for her as she understands very little English.  Each day we are there she is amazed at the progress that we are making.

This week Storm Aid of Ohio will be coming to Rockport to begin some new builds in the area.  As the homes are built, we will be helping where needed.  Several of us went to Port Aransas on Saturday to watch the sand artists create beautiful, detailed sand sculptures on the beach.  This sand fest was originally scheduled for April but was postponed due to Covid.
