Arcadia, FL – Jan. 7-13, 2024

Our leadership crew arrived in Arcadia, FL on January 3 to get organized for our first volunteer group to arrive on Sunday night, January 7.  Leadership consists of Paul and Lisa Schamback from Croghan, NY as Project Director and Office Manager for 3 months.  Our crew leaders this month are Chuck and Ginny Gibson from Michigan, Mervin Zimmerman from Ohio, and Jack from Kenya.  Don and Em Yoder are cooking for 3 months.  A large group of volunteers from Iowa and Lititz arrived ready and willing to work!  Our work this winter is mainly repair jobs from Hurricane Ian.  The group mainly worked on the Hartfield home.  New siding was put on and painted this week.  Inside new sheetrock and painting was done.  New windows and trim were installed.  On another client site extensive demolition work and clean out was done.  This is going to be a big project, but many hands make light work.  We are looking forward to  very productive winter months in Arcadia.
