Newton, TX (RV) – Mar. 22 – 28, 2026

We had another beautiful weather week in southeast Texas!    Karen’s house is almost finished! This week Milton, Lorna, Loretta E and Merv finished installing the flooring and worked on installing the baseboards and quarter round around the ceiling.  Loretta E painted the remaining baseboards and Loretta E and Merv continued to install the trim as Milton and Lorna went to work at Lois’ house.  Loretta E also caulked the baseboards.

At Lois’ house, which is also close to completion, Billy installed the railing and spindles on the ramp which finally made it complete, and Milton and Lorna worked on installing flooring in the kitchen.  Pete installed new base cabinets and countertops in the kitchen and patched the roof around the vent stick.

As usual we also enjoyed a weekend full of fun and fellowship.  On Friday night we enjoyed a potluck supper in the office trailer as we celebrated Milton’s birthday.  Saturday morning, we had a delicious breakfast at The Belle Jim Bed and Breakfast in Jasper. On Sunday we traveled to Merryville, LA and attended church at The River Church.  After church we went a little further east to Deridder, LA, and enjoyed a Mexican lunch at El Viejo Tony.
