Newton, TX (RV) – Mar. 1 – 7, 2026
We absolutely enjoyed another beautiful week of warm sunny weather in southeast Texas, until the weekend. Thunderstorms and lightning kept some of us awake Saturday night.
A lot of progress was made in Karen J’s house this week. Bonnie and Todd finished installing the shower, toilet, flooring and trim in bathroom #1. Cindy, Karen F., Margaret, Clark and Billy continued mudding, taping, sanding, priming and painting several interior walls throughout the house. Steve worked on installing drywall and repairing the floor in bathroom #2 and Norm finished painting the exterior of the house.
On Wednesday evening Sandi volunteered to cook a meal for all of us! It was delicious and so kind of her! On Thursday evening some of the team went out to Cajun Jo’s, a restaurant in Newton.
We said goodbye to Bonnie and Todd, Margaret and Clark, Norm and Karen and Cindy and Steve, but welcomed Lorna and Milton from Manitoba, Canada, and Merv and Loretta from Pennsylvania.
On Sunday our new team worshiped at Jasper County Cowboy Church and had lunch together at Smitty’s BBQ.
Submitted by Loretta for Newton RV and Peter, Bonnie and Todd, Margaret and Clark, Cindy and Steve, Karen and Norm, and Billy and Sandi.
