This week in Lahaina, we received fourteen new volunteers. A mother and daughter team came from Virginia while one man came from Pennsylvania. We had three young men from Michigan and three couples and one woman from Oregon. We were short by two, they were denied entry into the United States from Canada.

We had a remarkably busy week. On the Asuncion House, completed the work on framing, electrical and plumbing. Inspection is planned for next Monday, March 30th.

The crew on the Hoopia House installed drywall and it was inspected on Friday, March 27. It passed the inspection at 7 AM and the crew started to apply the first coat of drywall mud. Another crew continued working outside of the home.

We are working on two faulty contractor houses. The first one, the Ross house, we completed the drywall last week except for the bathroom. We are waiting for the electrician to finish before we go any farther. On the Cabatic house on LeoLeo Street, we are working on the punch list from the Long-Term Recovery Group. We repaired the siding, started painting the exterior and interior, and installed five security screen doors.

With all the rain we have had, the sunny skies are a real blessing. With the sun came the growth of grass and weeds around the camp. We used a small crew to do some repairs on the leaking camp roof, fix the washed-out driveway, mow, weed and Weed Wack the yard. It has been another productive week here in Lahaina.
