This week we have a crew of 11 from Penn Yan, NY and Lancaster, PA areas. They have done much work and even helped us out with the cooking! We have had a lot of fun and laughter.

Some of them were painting Terry’s house in Welsh, as you can see from the photo series below.

Terry’s house has been changing color to a bright blue that he really likes. The addition (facing you in righthand photo) still needs a bunch of work inside, but it is mostly drywalled to become the kitchen and utility room.

The repairs in Veronica’s house a block over are slowly being brought to a conclusion. Her kitchen looks really nice now, with new cabinets, countertop and sink. Some of the walls have been repainted and new flooring put in. A bathroom has also been redone. We are looking forward to dedicating the home on Wednesday of this coming week.

On the outskirts of Lake Charles, we had roofed and done exterior repairs last year on Stephanie Celestine’s house. We had also gutted inside, but no one had ever returned to rework the interior. So Doug’s crew has been going strong on that, tearing out the subfloor to replace some joists, shoring up some rafters, and replacing almost all the subfloor by the end of the week. Tiring but rewarding!
