Denare Beach, SK – May 31-June 6, 2026

As we drove into Denare Beach on Sunday afternoon, we saw how the fire of June 2, 2025 affected and damaged not only the forest, but also the properties. Among the burnt trees we saw places that once held someone’s special and needed possessions. And now it was just a pile of charred pieces on the blackened earth.

As volunteers, we come together with the vision to be the hands and feet of Jesus as we bless and are blessed by those around us. Tuesday, June 2, 2026 found us at the beach for a memorial held by the community. Hearing their stories and experiences of the fire and also the rebuilding process brought hope and renewed strength to everyone.

Having the homeowners work with us or come to visit the building sites has truly been special. We were blessed with a fish fry supper by one homeowner and wonderful visits throughout the evening.

God proved Himself as a faithful Guide in whom we can place our trust! And as new friendships were made, we realized again that many hands make light work. We came to bless others and yet we ourselves were blessed abundantly.
