Denare Beach, SK – June 7-13, 2026
There were several stories that were shared from clients, community people, and crew leaders about their experiences this past week.
Homeowners Carmell and Ivan were working at their jobs when the evacuation was ordered. Carmell left Denare Beach with their nine-year-old daughter. Ivan was out of town and returned home to remain on site during the fire. They had not expected to be evacuated, so leaving their home was hurried and stressful. Two grandchildren will also live in their new home.
A pastoral couple from Flin Flon named Randall and Faith were evacuated with their house remaining intact. They spoke of long line-ups of cars leaving Denare Beach, Creighton, and Flin Flon. People were fleeing to their relatives, random hotels, and some did not know where they were going to stay.
Kristen, along with her husband and children were evacuated with her mother Janice and brother Kevin. Their houses survived the fire. Kristen also mentioned that no one expected Denare Beach to burn. Because of this assumption, people from Flin Flon were taking possessions to Denare Beach for safety. Kristen’s husband stayed behind to help firefighters while his family remained evacuated for one month.
God also worked on volunteer hearts this week. The blessings received seemed to double the blessings given. There was great team effort and everyone got along. One crew leader enjoyed working with her sister, brother-in-law, niece, and son-in-law.
I heard devotions from volunteers concerning being patient when God says to wait. There were personal testimonies of God’s redeeming love and how God leads in determining the steps needed to do His Will. I was grateful to be a part of this project.
