This week we had 17 weekly volunteers. They came from British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. Four long-term volunteers came from Manitoba and Nova Scotia. Leadership duties went to Denis Sabourin as Project Director for the week with Harold Friesen returning as Project Director on June 14th. Johnny Wieler was the Office Manager. Next week, we are expecting a large group of volunteers from Southern Ontario.

Work will continue on five homes belonging to Kim Lauze, Steve Harrison, Ture and Tracy O’Brien, Mike and Mel Durrette and Ivan and Carmell Monias.

The crews completed lower level plumbing in two basements. It’s amazing what three journeymen plumbers can do in a week! Framing and back framing was completed in two homes along with trusses and a deck. All windows and doors were installed with a few remaining for next week. Two homes got plywood roofs, fascia, and were wrapped with Tyvek. One more deck will be constructed and posts will go up for another home. Siding will begin next week as well.

Highlights for the week were getting a great deal of work done despite the rain, cold weather and wind. The crews worked hard and found solace in hot coffee, tea and hot chocolate! They also knew that God was delighted in their servanthood.
