Volunteers this month came from two provinces and four states. As usual, a strong commitment to service produced a strong bond for the 13 volunteers.

Inside work included painting doors and trim, cleaning and sealing the cement floors, installing counter-tops and vanities, and caulking, Outside work included building porch steps and railings, setting forms for sidewalks, pouring and finishing the concrete, and laying sod.

Our Wednesday an evening meal of spaghetti and meatballs was provided by the Calvary Apostolic Church of Wynne.

Roger Classen arrived over the weekend to begin the demolition of a house and two house trailers.

The highlight of the week was the dedication of Scott’s home. A tornado in March of 2023 destroyed her home. Her daughters say it was a miracle she was not in the house when the tornado struck. She has been living in Little Rock with family.

Her excitement when entering her new home was evident to the 60 or more people gathered to celebrate with her.

Project director Fred Hershey and Wynne Long Term Recovery coordinator Leann Lovell led the dedication service.

Long Term Volunteers spent Saturday in Memphis at the Bass Pro Shops at the Pyramid and exploring Beall Street. On the way home we picked up our newest crew leader at the Memphis airport. Adam Blough is a year long volunteer from New York. He will be in Wynne until we close March 30.

Next week we will welcome 13 volunteers from Maple Grove Mennonite Church in Atglen PA. We also anticipate two home dedications.
