Wynne, AR – Feb. 16-22, 2025
Volunteers from Manitoba and Pennsylvania joined us this week. With their help the carpenter work at Scott’s house is finished. That included hanging doors, installing cabinets, trimming doors and windows and touch up painting. The Wynne Long Term Recovery Committee is finding appliances and furniture to complete the project.
In addition, volunteers worked on finishing drywall and painting in the other three houses.
We welcomed Eugene Kaufman from Kansas as our new construction supervisor as well as Dave and Marian Mininger from Virginia. Dave will be a crew leader and Marian will help in the kitchen.
Next week nine volunteers from Wisconsin will join us. We hope to complete the second of our four houses.
Freezing rain, snow and frigid temperatures greeted us early in the week. Inside work was welcomed. Next week warms up but three inches of rain a week ago has left our job sites muddy.
On Wednesday night a local couple brought us a tenderloin meal with potatoes, vegetables and dessert.
