This week began with sunshine and beautiful warm weather, which we enjoyed!  Our group of 15 volunteers arrived from PA on Sunday evening and we spent time with orientation and getting acquainted together.

On Monday four crews went out to four jobs, three continuing the work already started, and one beginning work in a different home.  At the Culler house, the bi-fold doors that were painted last week were assembled and installed and trim was painted.  By the end of the week, kitchen cabinets were installed and flooring completed.   Work on the steps continued at the Gyska house, which included installing hogwire railing and top cap and the handrails.  The pickets, top cap and handrail were all finished by Wednesday and that job was completed!   Priming was finished up and the first coat painted on ceilings at the Wall house. By the end of the week, all the painting was completed and the trim was painted.  At the Wall house the two coats of paint were applied and finished by Thursday.  The week’s work at the  McAnally house was sanding, sanding, and more of the same!  Some small jobs were being worked on at the Mays house, including a little drywall, some foam and trimming out five windows.

On Wednesday evening, we continued the weekly tradition of joining the Bat Cave bridges group for a meal together.  As always, it was a highlight of the week.  A couple that had received a new bridge joined us and spoke about their experience, and as always, were so appreciative of having a bridge again to be able to access their home!

On Saturday we said goodbye to Jim, our crew leader, and Stephanie, our assistant cook.  We enjoyed having them spend two weeks with us, and we appreciate so much all of their hard work, good attitudes and good humor!  Blessings to them as they head back home!

The long term team:  Mike & Linda, Ron & Char, Jim, Hank, Stephanie and Beth Ann
