San Juan, PR – Feb. 8-14, 2026
This was another week with too much rain. Rain is not conducive to putting roofs on houses. But in spite of the weather a lot was accomplished.
Since one house was a new build, there was lots of inside work to be done. They finished installing the T1-11 on the ceiling and put up crown molding, put tiles in the shower, skim coated cement walls, and finished the plumbing. The flooring was completed, as well as the tiling in the bathroom. Kitchen cabinets were installed, and 3 of the 4 interior doors were hung. The crown molding was finished, the doors were trimmed, the walls were painted and the tile was completed on the floor.
At another house they tore off old metal from the roof, installed plywood over the T1-11, then applied the water shield and installed the galvalume. They stabilized the roof from the inside, and finished screwing tin, installed braces, drilled and bolted board to concrete walls and cleaned up the interior.
We had a few hours of sunlight this week which made it easier to get some work done. When the sun shines here, the birds are quick to start singing and the coqui add their serenade to the chorus.
