Completed Mr Pablo’s roof. They had to create new trusses and add a hurricane resistant tin roof.  Similarly, they completed the final touches to the fine work began by the January Teams on Mr Andre’s and Miss Joan’s houses.

It was a week of transition of the leadership team.  The incoming leadership team of Samantha Zundle (PD), Ronald Zundle (CL), Gerald Engel (CL), Connie Goertzen (HC), Val Papple (Assistant Cook) and Wayne Papple (OM) landed in from the north (and far north) and started to adjust to the MUCH hotter climate.  The departing leadership team: Rex, Nevin, Maik, Rex, Pauline and Willy were scrambling to put finishing touches on several projects in addition to passing on their project knowledge and cultural insights to the incoming leaders.

Saturday was very hectic for Samantha and Ron as they ended up ferrying many outgoing and incoming volunteers to and from San Juan International airport.  Earlier in the week, the car rental agency had to offer three of the available vehicles before we found one that had a dash screen with a functional GPS and backup camera…a total necessity with the chaotic traffic in this city.

Rex, Pauline and Willy made it home safely (praise God) but not without difficulty…their flight from San Juan faced significant delays and they even had to stop in Orlando for a spell before they were able to get connecting flights home.

Wayne (OM) for Willy
