San Juan, PR – Feb. 16-22, 2025
This week we had another group of internationals! Except this week we had more Canadian’s than other countries, we all got along just fine, (even after Canada won the 4Nations hockey) and it was great working together. Amazing things happen when with MDS we have a common goal and we’re all working together to help someone, in this case, have a roof over their head!
The people from Canada had quite a hard start as there flight from Toronto was cancelled so they drove to Detroit to catch a flight which arrived in San Juan at 4ish am and they were on the job for breakfast at 7am. They did a full day’s work and were ready for bed early!
We continued with the new roof which was started last week, sheeting and water & wind shield going on before the aluminum sheets which completed the roof. Yeah, the homeowners are extremely happy with a dry home. To show their appreciation these homeowners provided delicious lunches all week.
We also started demolition on another roof not far away. It did not take long to demolish and by the end of the week the plates were being set and the pieces for the rafters were being cut.
What a great week of getting to know each other, laughing and having fun at the dinner table with great food being prepared. We did not leave the table hungry. It was a pleasure to be the hands and feet for the homeowner as they look forward to getting a dry roof over their head.
Thanks to everyone for making this week another successful week for MDS!
Until next time,
OM for All
