While the Project Director and Office manager and their spouses arrived the week before the project actually started to get things set up in the tool trailer and office trailer, the rest of our workers arrived the weekend of January 16. Some drove through ice and snow and slushy roads to get here, but that didn’t stop them from arriving and being willing to serve.

For the first week of service, the wonderful, willing volunteers worked on three homes. Imogene had a front door replaced, a back door repaired, and work done to support the railing. Theresa’s house had the popcorn ceiling repaired, and cracks and seams fixed. The new windows have been ordered. Peggy’s house had the ceilings torn down of the bedrooms and living room, insulation replaced, and new drywall installed. Work was done on a well pump to get it going, and plumbers have been called to get her drainpipe working and her toilet to be usable.

On Friday, January 17, we were blessed with visitors from MDS Lititz office. We were treated to lunch, then had a round table discussion of how things were going and what improvements could be made. Thank-you Larry, David, and Stanley, and Christine too!

In His Service,

Ken and Rita, Steve and Pam, Bruce and Nancy, Dean,

Andy and Maureen, Mike and Twila, and Leonard and Twila
