We have had a cold and wet week.  Progress was made despite the weather!  Two weekly volunteers, Wendy, from Lodi, CA, and Gordon, from Reedley, CA, returned for another week of service.  Kevin and Donna, from Clovis, CA, also joined our team for the week.   Our long-term team remained the same as reported last week.  Maynard Goins, Project Coordinator with MDS California arrived on Wednesday evening for two days to meet the long-term team and give us some additional orientation.

Our work crew, Paul, Ed, Gordon, Wendy, Kevin and Donna, continued siding, installing soffit and installing attic vents at Rubiolo’s home.  Although it rained and was very misty in the town of Paradise, the jobsite (40 minutes away) was relatively free from rain during our working hours.  On Friday, while it was raining, the crew hung ceiling drywall at the Harrell house.

On Tuesday, the volunteers worked two different sites.  Ryan, Paul and Gordon worked at the Wylie house, pouring concrete for piers, and made adjustments to the window framing.

Saturday, the Long-Term Volunteers drove to the Bangor Bake Shoppe – we had to see what everyone is talking about.  Delicious cinnamon rolls and coffee were enjoyed, and two pies, blackberry and cherry, came home with us for Sunday dessert.  It was well worth the drive!

We appreciate our cooks, Brenda and Dave!  A hot, nourishing breakfast greets us in the morning and a hot, nourishing dinner ends our day!
