Over the weekend, we said goodbye to Carol and Leon Brubaker (head cook and crew leader) and welcomed our new cooks for the month of July, Tim and Dottie Weber. Herb Hoover also joined our team as a crew leader.

We welcomed another energetic youth group to our Summer Youth Program this week. A group of seven joined us from Emmanuel Mennonite Church in Abbotsford, BC. After a long day of travel, they arrived eager to participate in the Paradise projects.

The crew at Honey Run finished installing the flooring, put on the kitchen cabinet hardware, and started installing doors. The closet organizer was added, and the closet door jamb was set. They also painted trim and started putting it up.

At the Jewel residence, an ambitious crew replaced the railroad tie steps out front to provide a safe entrance to her house. They also took care of some minor landscaping and cut some trees. They finished many inside details like installing closet shelving, door handles and bathroom accessories. Within a couple of weeks, we hope all the final details will be take care of and a final inspection scheduled.

A group of three women had fun week working at the Newland house where they finished installing the flooring. They then moved on to putting up trim and baseboard, and after that caulking and filling nail holes was done. Bifold closet doors were installed next.

We also helped a neighbor across the street whose siding had melted in the fire by removing the damaged siding and replacing it with new siding. Some touch-up painting completed the job.

On Friday evening, homemade pizza and root beer floats were enjoyed by all as an end-of-the-week celebration and send-off to this wonderful team!

Thank you for your interest in this project.

Beverly Delp, Office Manager, on behalf of the whole Paradise team
