This week’s crew of 18 weekly volunteers included people from Texas, Colorado and Pennsylvania.  Some were new to MDS.

Work continued clearing debris from yards and creeks, felling and cutting up trees.  We had a bucket lift this week that enabled work on taller trees.  There was beautiful weather for this outdoor work until Thursday when a stiff wind and temperatures in the low 40’s made bucket lift work unsafe and made unprotected outdoor work uncomfortable.

Friday morning, we woke to a surprise snow!  Locals say it hasn’t snowed in years, but we saw it this week.  It melted quickly, but temperatures were cold, and the wind was fierce.  The entire crew insisted on continuing the work rather than leaving for home a day early.  Some worked on the sheds that were started last week.  Others were at homeowners’ yards with skid steer work.  Much work was accomplished this week with the large crew.
