New Caney, TX (RV) – Jan. 25-31, 2026

This past week, the team continued to work on the home in Cleveland, Texas for Hope Disaster Recovery.  Work included (almost) finishing the bathroom, new shower plumbing, and a new tiled floor. In the small kitchen area, drywall was mounted and mudding began. This next week, we hope to finish the mudding, painting, flooring and installing new cupboards in the kitchen. If this is too ambitious, we will complete it early next week.

It was a challenge to stay warm this week with temperatures falling below zero many of the nights.  The team coped with this by starting an hour later on Monday and Tuesday, and working a little later in the day. Despite the cold, the days warmed up a little by noon, and we were able to have our lunch outside in the sunshine. Our plumbing team (Kenn Wolf, Lenka Cezkova, and Vernon Kroeker) completed plumbing on their third ‘new build’ and moved on to do preliminary work on a 4^th home. This week they hope to complete the 4rth home and begin installing the plumbing on ‘new build’ #5 (Final). Once the current plumbing and repair projects are completed, we will circle back to complete finishing work of two of the new builds.
