Work has begun on Grand Isle, LA.  Our volunteer RVers arrived the weekend of January 7 and 8.  They are Agnes and Bernie Marten from Manitoba,  Nancy and Bruce Shields from TX, Clark and Margaret Upton from Oregon, Ken and Rita Wolf from Iowa, Charles and Susan Wray from Kansas.  Project director is Paul Schamback, and Lisa Schamback is office manager.  The Schamback’s are from New York.   Our campsite is at Bridgeside Marina right on the ocean.  It is a marvelous place to be!  Along with the 70 degree weather, we are rather enjoying ourselves while helping others.

Work started on Monday morning at Miss Hayle’s home.  The bathroom was ripped out. Several of the men tackled the plumbing problems underneath the house.  There were also electrical issues that had to be dealt with.  Siding was painted and applied.
