Elk, WA – Feb. 1- 7, 2026

The new long-term volunteer team arrived and is preparing to be here for the month of February. We are from Indiana, Oregon, Wisconsin, Alaska, and Virginia. We also have two Rosedale trade school students here from Delaware and Michigan. We welcomed a group of 7 energetic young women from Wisconsin. They contributed lots of laughter to us for the week. One of the long-term volunteers said you could hear them coming to the dining room before you saw them.

We did a lot of drywalling this week. Mudding, sanding, mudding, sanding. Steve’s and Bill’s houses are ready for texturing. Some plumbing and sewer hook-up was done at Steve’s. A ditch for water lines was dug at Bill’s house.

Linda’s MDS house got the electrical inspection on Tuesday and the insulation inspection on Friday.  Fill dirt was brought in and leveled around the houses.  Some gravel was also brought for the driveway.

In the evenings after supper and reporting, we enjoyed games, puzzles, and singing.
