Eastern KY – March 12-18, 2023

Thirteen volunteers from PA and IN worked on five houses this week. Work at States included doors, base board, casing and painting; at Southwood dry wall and painting; at Neace plumbing, insulation and painting; at Herald drywall; and at Joseph flooring and plumbing.

Ed Southwood joined us for supper on Thursday and shared some of his flood experiences. He also showed us 20 slides of flood waters at his house. In passing he noted his chain saw was stolen. One of the volunteer groups presented him with a new one.

Bob and Sandy Martin, crew leader and assistant cook completed their assignment on Friday. We were joined over the weekend by three new crew leaders: Rob Beiswenger from PA, Richard Gerber and Dave Miller from IN. Gloria Miller came as assistant cook and Nancy Gerber as Long Term Volunteer.

Next week a group from Heritage Academy will spend their spring break as volunteers here. At the end of the week this site will close.
