There were two volunteers (Paul Schamback and Luke Keasey) in addition to the Project

Director Joe Byler

Saralene Noble House:

Kitchen cabinets were hung and countertop installed.  Carpet was laid in the three bedrooms.  Finished the trim work, installed foundation flood vents, and did touchup painting.  They poured concrete pads at the bottom of front and back steps to connect them to the existing concrete driveway, installed drainage pipe to divert roof water away from the foundation, and did the final cleanup.  All that remains to be done is install the corner cabinet that Home Lumber missed ordering and install the sewer pipe from the house to city sewer.   Cornett Plumbing has been asked to install the sewer line.   Final inspection for electric is expected this coming week, and hopefully Cornett will finish the plumbing this coming week also.   Joe gave them permission to begin moving in furniture but asked them not to occupy the house until all work is done and final inspections are completed.

Michael and Tammy Back house.

They hung the cabinets, installed the countertops, and finished the trim and closet shelving.  Installed the sewer line to the septic tank.  All that remains to be done is install 2 pieces of window trim which ran short on the last day.   Joe gave them permission to begin moving in furniture but asked them not to occupy the house until all work is done and final inspections are completed.

Leland and Jan Noble House.

A volunteer group from Fairview Mennonite Church, Kalona, Iowa, came the week of July 10.  Bowlings Creek Mennonite Church provided meals and lodging.  They finished framing, installed house wrap, windows and doors, and started siding, soffit, and handicap ramp.

Samuel has volunteers coming next week to do the rough-in plumbing and electrical work.  Samuel, Phil, and I are working to recruit volunteers to keep the project moving forward.

Joe has no plans to return to Eastern KY, but is available to do so if the need arises.  Phil Swartzentruber and Samuel Short have agreed to supervise the remaining work.   Phil will lead out in having the job cards signed and the house dedications after the houses are completed.
