Crisfield, MD – Feb. 16-22, 2025

Our new volunteers arrived on Sunday, despite some traffic delays.  We’re always thankful for the safe arrival of our volunteers after their traveling many miles to come to serve with MDS!  This week we have a couple from Illinois, a couple from Virginia and  two folks from Ohio.  They have all worked on projects with us before, so it’s great to have another opportunity to be together!

The taping and mudding continues at the new build and also at the church.  A lift was rented for the week and several volunteers spent some time up alongside the church steeple removing old shingles and by Tuesday, beginning to attach new ones.

Tuesday evening we had a good time of fellowship at our evening meal with several of the members of the Enon Baptist Church.  Lots of good conversation and learning more about the community and their church!

By the end of the week, the bathrooms at the church were painted a lovely gray, and the church steeple was finished, complete with a white cross on top that a local volunteer created for them.

The sanding continued at the new build, which should be completed on Monday.  For several days, two ladies stayed at the base and painted trim and interior doors for the new build.
