Conroe, TX – Mar. 8- 14, 2026
This week our work group consisted of 8 young men from Wisconsin, a father and daughter pair from Ohio, and volunteers from Kansas, Colorado, and Texas.
Work at the Cooke house this week included drywall finishing & painting and installing flooring, doors, and trim. At the Crumbley house, volunteers worked on installing counter tops and trim, plumbing, and landscaping as the project nears completion. Ceilings and walls were primed and painted at the Garcia house, and the flooring was installed. Work at the Molina house continued with the installation of counter tops, moldings, doors, trim, and painting.
It felt good to be able to have job completion cards signed by homeowners Arnold and Luff for the repair jobs we had been working on at their houses.
One of our highlights this week was having the Garcia family join us for supper. Hearing the stories of loss and words of gratitude from the clients is always a heartwarming experience.
Our group learned more about bow fishing from the Wisconsin group who were headed to the Gulf Coast after their week of service to try to outsmart the fish there and about constructing timber frame structures by the pair from Ohio. It was a very interesting week.
