Conroe, TX – Jan. 25- 31, 2026

On Sunday evening the first group of weekly volunteers from Iowa of 9 young people arrived later than expected due to delays of their flight. The second group of 6 young people from Canada arrived on Monday afternoon due to many closed roads with the winter storm Fern.

Work on the Hayes house consisted of finishing the hanging of the drywall to the ceiling and 2 bedrooms. We did the final punch list, and the Hayes house has been turned over to the MDS RV group for completion.

Work on the Renk house consisted of finishing up the painting on the outside, working on the deck railing, along with starting the rough-in electrical and plumbing.

Work on the Molina house consisted of finishing the porch and railing. The rough-in plumbing has been completed, the rough-in electrical is nearly complete. All the exterior painting has been completed.

On the Crumbley house the exterior of the house painting has been completed along with the rough-in electrical. All the insulation has been installed. The ceiling drywall has been completed as well. The Deck and Railing have been completed, and a good portion of the wall drywall as well has been installed.

Great progress was made on the Garcia house. The subfloor was completed. The house got framed with the roof installed as well as the Fascia and soffit The windows and doors are installed as well. We welcomed the new Project Director Denis Sabourin, the new office manager and crew leader Starla and Stu Landis as well as the new Construction Supervisor and long-term volunteer Jim and Rhonda Herr. David and Francis Zarate who is the project coordinator, joined us for the transition of leadership.

It has been a great month for our group. As we say goodbye to each other, we pray that all travels are safe, knowing that we will meet again.
