Conroe, TX – Feb. 15- 21, 2026

2 years ago the Lyndaker family experienced 5 ft of water in their basement in their upstate New York home after a sudden flood. After the local MDS unit showed up to assist them with cleanup, they decided right then that they wanted to volunteer as a family on an MDS project.

This week the Lyndaker family of 3 joined a lively group of 12 students and 2 advisors from Columbia Bible College in Abbotsford, British Columbia.

The Crumbley house was transformed inside as it was primed and painted. The kitchen cabinets were installed and by the end of the week, flooring for 3 bedrooms was completed. The fellowship with Mr. Crumbley throughout the week was a highlight for the volunteers and Rooster (Cornbread) stories entertained us all at supper.

Drywall hanging was the primary task for the Garcia house, and the volunteers were determined not to leave on Friday until they had finished the entire house. Success was within their sight but came up just a bit short on material. Volunteers who came thinking they might only be capable of cleanup were feeling accomplished after a week of learning how to measure and cut and hang drywall!

At the Molina house the crew persevered with the daunting task of taping and mudding the entire house. Not an easy skill to master in one week so by Friday it felt like a big accomplishment to have 2 coats on everything and ready for sanding on Monday.

The students went to the Renk house to dig a hole and trench to the house for the electrical service.

A few repair jobs continued where they finished siding at the Luff house and started flooring at the Arnold House.

We welcomed 1st time leadership volunteer, Deb Oliver, to the project this week as she shadowed and experienced being an Office Manager in prep for her service in March as Office Manager in Pointe Au Chien, Louisiana.
