Conroe, TX – Feb. 1- 7, 2026

Over the weekend we said goodbye to the very capable January team of Longterm Leadership that was lead by LeRoy Janzen. (Bob Nafziger, Dick Schrock, Harlan Martin, Kevin and Laura Zimmerman, Lorissa Nolt, Kristen Newswanger and Doreen Janzen)

They took (5) houses from their foundations to all 5 having their roofs completed, some with electrical, plumbing and drywall started, most with siding completed.

The week started with temperatures below freezing and ended with sunshine and 78 degrees!

Our volunteer group this week of 14 mostly young women from Shippensburg and Bob from Canada, were up to any task presented to them.

Lisa’s House: Lisa joined us for supper on Wednesday night to share her story and mentioned many times how blessed she was by the laughter that filled the air as the volunteers worked on her house. Insulation was installed in the ceiling and walls and the dreaded crawl space under the house but all done with smiles and laughter! A new skill for many was installing drywall on the ceiling which they completed with the help of the New Caney RV group.

Katie’s House: Siding was installed on the entire house plus the decking and porch ceiling was finished.  Rough electrical was also started. Katie has been diligently working with a local Electrician to do the rough electrical on all the houses and getting quite proficient at it.

The job site looked like a beehive of busy workers by the end of the week when there was a total of 16 volunteers and resulted in the entire house receiving 2 coats of paint.

Molina House: Another industrious group of volunteers installed insulation in the ceiling, walls and down in the crawlspace which CL Stu tried to encourage them that it was actually a very nice working condition for a crawlspace with plastic laid on the sandy ground.

A window was removed and door installed between the new and old structures. Electrical work started and new hook up for Client’s dryer.
