Long-term volunteers for this week continued from last week:  PD Fred Hershey (AL), CS David King (VA), Crew Leaders Kena and Suetta Hollinger (MI) and Joel Short (OH), head cook Judy Schmidt (Manitoba), assistant cook Millie Hershey (AL), and OM Stan Kauffman (MI).  Our group of 18 weekly volunteers was from Cumberland/Franklin County area in Pennsylvania.

The diligent but fun-loving Amory MDS volunteers worked on tornado damage recovery projects at 5 houses and one church building.  All of those jobs were completed by the end of Friday, and two house blessing celebrations were held for two very happy homeowners – James and Ella, with family, friends and representatives from case managers to long-term recovery board members and a local hardware company owner in attendance.  Hugs and handshakes abounded.  The owners are making arrangements to move in almost immediately for Christmas.

The Amory project goes on Christmas – New Year break now from December 14 to re-open January 6 as new long-term leadership arrives, and weekly volunteers begin serving the following week.  We wish God’s rich blessing on you who read this report, those who have served and will serve at Amory and other active MDS projects, on those who are enjoying this Christmas in their newly repaired homes, and especially on those who still wait for their homes to be restored.  “God bless us every one!”
