What Happened
Around May 29, 2025, the Wolf wildfire began. It swept through the community of Denare Beach on June 2, 2025, destroying more than 200 homes in the Northern Village of Denare Beach.
What MDS Is Doing
MDS volunteers will focus on building four new homes in 2026 for residents of Denare Beach, SK.
Location
Denare Beach is a scenic northern Saskatchewan village and cottage community located on the shores of Amisk Lake, about 22km southwest of Flin Flon, Manitoba. It is a popular area for fishing and boating. Located in the Canadian Shield, the area features the Limestone Crevices, a unique natural geological formation.
