Spartanburg, SC – Feb. 15-21, 2026
Progress is happening in balmy Spartanburg! God provided exactly the skills we needed from our crew of 15 volunteers from Canada this week to accomplish the next-at-hand tasks! Ray (CL) and Mim Heisey (PC) joined us as well to help this week. Mid-week, we bid farewell to year-long volunteer Lukas Houben and wished him well on his respite time with his brother who is visiting from Germany. We will miss Lukas’s “German” lessons and his dry wit.
Job #1: Ms. Carolyn is getting more excited by the day as she watched the final touches of drywall finishing and the “Bora Bora Shores” paint go on her walls. By week’s end the painting was done and cabinets were moved in, ready for installing next week!
Job #2: With the final insulation completed, Mr. Lindsey’s house was completely drywalled, joints taped, mudded, and finished inside, while outside the siding was completed.
Job #3: At Ms. William’s house the soffit was put up and siding was started. The insulation was completed, windows caulked, and drywall stacked in place ready to hang next week.
Puzzles, coloring, guitar/harmonica music, singing and volleyball was enjoyed by everyone during the evening hours of fellowship. A big shout out, also, to two weekly volunteer ladies, Maria and Helena, who stepped up to cook for us this week!
