This week we welcomed crew leader and cook combos, Ed & Marlene Martin and Jim & Ruthi Gochnauer. We had a productive week with a group of 12 from Diller Mennonite Church in PA and a couple from Mishawaka, IN.

The week began with demolition day on Blackstock Rd, removing damaged roofing, kitchen cabinets, walls, and flooring. Throughout the week, rafters were repaired and roof replacement began. Drywalling expertise was evident as the walls and ceiling went up quickly and mudding and taping was accomplished. Flooring was repaired and painting began. A very busy week at Mr. Lambert’s home!

This hard-working crew was able to finish up two new builds for Mr. John and Ms Mary. Caulking, trim work, painting, and porch railings were all completed. The houses look great and after final inspections the owners will eagerly move in. Home dedications are in the planning stages.

Project Director, Don, worked to make local contacts and signed several more homes needing repairs.

Flooring and cabinetry repair at Ms Ray’s house has started and will continue.

A little over a year ago some members of the Diller group had been in Selma, AL for the framing of a new build there. Because office manager, Jan, was in Selma for the dedication of the same new build, it was fun to share pictures of the before and after.

Over the weekend we said goodbye to Raymond Shirk who was here for three weeks as (awesome) crew leader, but he left his fishing pole!
