Wynne, AR – Feb. 2-8, 2025
A group of 14 young adults from Lancaster PA joined our 13 Long Term Volunteers for a spring like week of framing houses. On Monday a crew began framing our fourth house and by Friday it was lockable.
Work on the other three houses included roofing, siding, interior walls, doors and windows, insulation and drywall. It feels as if we are well on our way to meeting the goal of four completed houses in three months.
On Monday we were treated with an evening meal of spaghetti at the Cross Community Church. After a children’s choir serenaded us, Project Director, Fred Hershey, was then asked to explain the work of MDS to the 125 plus people gathered there.
On Wednesday night a discipleship group from the Wynne Baptist Church invited us to eat a pulled pork supper with them at their church. These meals give us a chance to meet community members and hear their tornado stories.
We have been blessed by the gratitude and generosity exhibited by the people of Wynne
Next week we look forward to groups from IL and IA joining us.
