Welsh, LA – RV – Jan. 7-13, 2024

Six couples – three American (OH,IA and IN) and three Canadian (BC, AB and MB) arrived last weekend in Welsh, La.  For most, if not all, the weather and roads leading here were uncharacteristically good for this time of year.

We will be staying at the Town of Welsh’s Sportsman RV Park during our time here.  This is a pleasant and quiet facility within the town.  The local residents are very welcoming – MDS has served in the area for a few years now.

Our goal will be to finish two houses that were begun in the fall by the Jennings traditional group. Project # 201 is a 2 bedroom/1 bathroom house whereas Project # 203 is a 3 bedroom/2 bathroom home.

The structures are both up and roofs shingled.  On Project 201 the team installed insulation and windows and a few minor prep tasks.  On Project 203 the team continued with drywall mudding and the removal of standing water (so scaffolding can be erected next week).
