Welsh, LA – RV – Oct. 2-8, 2022
After driving a combined total of 3,778 miles Duane and Jean Anderson, Bob and Cyndi Ratzlaff and David and Karen Olson arrive in Welsh, Louisiana. We are staying in the beautiful City Park here in Welsh along with great facilities, walking paths and ALLIGATORS!!!
We spent our first couple of days here setting up our camp area and getting acquainted with the area. Our first Sunday we visited the Church of Christ in Jennings where MDS has a traditional group working. They graciously fed us lunch and we had a great time getting to know them. Monday, we started work at Brandalyn’s house in Elton (about 20 miles from camp) Here we will be fixing her sewer, floors, some of the walls, putting in new kitchen cabinets, a new front door and replacing some windows. The house has shifted and expanded so we also need to jack it up and secure it. We will be working here for a while, but are excited to make her house livable again. The weather has been beautiful, so that makes working better.
On Friday we went out for our traditional breakfast date and on Saturday we volunteered for the Town of Welsh at their first annual Art Walk. We sold pop and water out of their trailer. It was once again a beautiful day and we were happy to be out in the community. Sunday, we attended the Church of Christ in Welsh where Jim from the Jennings Church was preaching. We were very welcomed and felt at home. We went to lunch at the Regatta on the water in Lake Arthur and drove through a couple of wildife reserves and saw more alligators!!! We are looking forward to exploring more of this area and meeting more of their gracious residents.
Until next week,
In God’s Love,
Duane, Jean, Bob, Cyndi, David ad Karen
