Swan Valley, MB – Oct. 4-10, 2026

Welcome to Minitonas, MB.

This was week two at the Swan Valley Response, and two volunteers joined us from Winnipeg and Ste Anne, MB. The nice weather continued with warm, sunny days and cool evenings.

Our small group of volunteers kept busy installing new doors at Marlene’s and built her a new potato bin. We checked out plumbing under Li’s trailer and helped Toni insulate her basement windows and emptied her last sandbags.

Marlene joined us for supper Tuesday evening and Connie broke bread with us on Friday.

We said farewell to volunteers Connie and Willy as we wrapped up and paused the response for Thanksgiving week, looking forward to time with family. Next week will be busy with Kevin King’s farewell event and the Board and Consultation meetings in Abbotsford. We will be back on October 18.
