Shuswap, B.C. – May 5-11, 2024

This week, the long-term volunteers switched. Excitement was in the air to achieve the week’s goal to get two floors on and some walls standing. Two floors did get put on but, on Friday at 9 am, one wall was standing when we had hoped for three. 

We have three scholarships students here and the young fresh spirits are so nice to see. While a refreshing dip in the lake was more than most of us could handle, they managed it just fine. 

Homeowner Wayne is ever present, feeding the groups at his site with tasty snacks. Jade and Isabelle have had a lot of help planting gardens, cutting trees and playing with Abel. Due to Rosie working two jobs, she is less able to interact with the volunteers. We hope she can show up on Fridays. 

Next week will be exciting as a new dig begins Monday morning.
