Twenty hardworking volunteers came to join us in the Shuswap this week. Five came from S.K. and were determined to finish framing a whole house. They had to do it a bit backwards, as the house they were hoping to frame didn’t have the basement poured because of rain the week before. They started with putting rafters on another house first, then the metal roofing.

Meanwhile the basement got poured at Isabelle and Jade’s house, and it was ready for floor joist and framing on Wednesday. The house had walls standing Friday by clean-up time. There was much excitement and tears as Isabelle helped raise the walls of her own house.

Rosy’s house had the roof put on and one window installed, just to say it had a window. Wayne’s house had all the windows installed, as well as the exterior door. Next week siding will go on both of these houses.
