Summer has arrived in the North Shuswap with temperatures reaching low 30s for the first time this year.

We had the pleasure of welcoming two youth groups this week. There were five volunteers from the Emmanuel Mennonite Church in Abbotsford, B.C., and seven from an Old Colony Church near Wheatley, Ontario.

Wayne’s house is looking more and more like a home. Some volunteers spent much of the week painting and installing the floor. The doors and trim were painted in our designated space, “The Barn,” in Celista, B.C. Wayne continued to entertain with stories and treats.

A crew continued drywalling Jade and Isabelle’s house with Jade often lending a hand. Isabelle blessed our group with potatoes and lettuce from her garden.

We completed the crawl space and installed door locks at Rosie’s house.

Ted’s house went from ICF wall last week to completely framed — including the roof. Ted helped every day with framing, lifting walls and feeding the crews.
