Shuswap, B.C. – July 14-20, 2024

It was scorching hot this week in Shuswap. Smoke from nearby wildfires filled the air. We plan to shut down the project next week, to allow for the annual “Athlete’s in Action” Soccer Camp at our base camp.  

We welcomed a large youth group from the Christian Faith Church in southern Manitoba. There were 15 youth and leaders eager to serve and learn. They would cool down in the lake after work and were sometimes back in the water with borrowed floaties and paddle boards after supper. Also volunteering this week was Dave Reimer, President of Steinbach Bible College, and his wife Shelley. 

Rosie’s house was completely painted, top to bottom. The trim and doors were also painted at “The Barn” and the flooring was done by Friday afternoon. 

Jade and Isabelle’s house received some improvements to the porch and railing. We are ready for taping and mudding. 

Wayne’s crawlspace was insulated and much of the finishing work is done… doors, window trim and baseboard. Daily volunteers plan to install kitchen cabinets during the week off. 

The indoor framing at Ted’s is completed, as well as all rough-in electrical and plumbing. We are ready for next week’s inspection.
