Selma, AL – Jan. 12-18, 2025
On Sunday we welcomed a group of 11 from Harrisonburg, Virginia. The organizers were a son and daughter-in-law of our best Dennis and Mildred Showalter, with whom we have volunteered at least twice before. Some of their grandchildren came as well, and a bunch of friends.
We started a mammoth exterior paint job on a home.
Kathy Waltner had quite a time trying to get the home owner to decide the new house colors! In Selma, the residents also have to clear color choices with the city, if their homes are in the historic districts. So that adds a layer of “color” to the plan!
Willoughby’s house got completed, and Moore’s saw lots more painting. Just the floor needs finishing now.
Reese’s house got fixed up inside, now that the roof is done.
It was a fun week with the group, whom we saw safely off on Friday evening, for their long trek back to Virginia. Thanks, James and Lisa and all!
